What power does color have in your life?

The ebook is ready for your Kindle, phone, or computer. It is $1.99 from Amazon. http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00D23HN5W
You can learn healing tips, personality insights, color breathing, and color meditations. For instance, what does it mean if red is your favorite color? Or what kind of personality are you if you dislike red? Read about all the colors. Once you know a person's color preferences, you will be able to understand her better.
I used this information in my color seminars when I worked for 3 Ethan Allen stores. At first, I asked participants to write their name tags in their favorite color, but had to stop that practice, when they realized how much their color choices told others about their personalities.

The Power of Color

I am taking a break from the studio for a bit. There are images in my head that I hope will become a new series, but they will have to wait. I am working on publishing a book that I wrote several years ago, The Power of Color. It isn't easy to create an ebook on Amazon, but that is what I want. That way I can keep the price very low and it can be accessible to everyone interested.

From the book, " Color influences how we feel and look even if we are not aware of its potency. It is around us and touches us even if we don't understand its force. The specific vibrations of each color trigger our personal energy field even if we can't see them.

Color is powerful. It affects our moods, health and general well being. 60% of a person's reaction in any situation is said to be based on color.

Color is composed of pigment and light. We are aware of experiencing more of the pigment colors than the colors of light. Scientific research proves visible light penetrates further into animal and human tissue"

This will be the cover image.

Encaustic sculpture

I was inspired by dozens of cans of old flesh tone encasutic paint that I no longer use for my figurative paintings - I use a palette now, so I melted all the old wax together and build up a face. It is all encaustic. I used the torch very sparingly, mostly sealing the wax with heated tools. For the carving and shaping, I used clay tools.
I'm not sure I will do it again, but it was an interesting challenge.
What do you think?

More encaustic on paper.

Sold, encaustic, water color on paper

These are the latest encaustic on paper that I took to the gallery. Even though it is a slow season in San Miguel, 4 of the 10 have sold. Perhaps it is the lower price, or the fact that they are matted an in plastic sleeves and easy to put in a suitcase that makes these easier choices for collectors.

Advanced encaustic workshop

This is a video of an advanced technique workshop that I held about 2 years ago. The art made by this group of artists was outstanding. What talent. Check it out.

Proud mom (Renee) and Noa

My daughter, Cynthia and I are in Portland OR. at the moment. My grandson Noa was graduated from the University of Portland, magna cum laude, in civil engineering. We are so proud of him.

Portland is magical. The weather is warm and sunny and everything is in bloom. The City of Roses is living up to its name.

Tomorrow we will begin our gallery tour. I look forward to seeing some new artists.
