my trip to Guadalajara

I just returned from a wonderful 4 days in Guadalajara. I really enjoyed this beautiful city, filled with history, art and public sculptures. The only experience I had had with Guadalajara was driving around the rim road and getting lost for a few hours a couple of years ago. It is the second largest city in Mexico. This time I went on a tour and left the driving to the professionals.

The National Geographic society named Guadalajara as having the second best weather in the world. the first being Sydney Australia and the third being Hawaii.

We visited other towns as well, including the town of Tequila - no surprise that that is where the blue agave grows and the tequila is made. I learned all about the distilling process and heard about the 200 year anniversary edition of Jose Cuervo that sold out at $2,000 U.S. dollars a bottle. What a shame that I was not able to buy a few!

Time to order more boards and get back to the studio.

  2. Thank you. It is amazing what a tiny iPod can do. I only use my "good" camera for photographing paintings now.

  4. I agree about the color of Mexico. My home is also filled with bright colors. My youngest daughter visited me last week and when she returned to San Francisco, she commented her beautiful apartment seemed too brown.
