I Want to Paint Like This

Oh, wait! I did paint like this over 40 years ago. Those are my paintings. I wonder if I can loosen up and create spontanious work like this again? Perhaps if I walk away from encaustic for a while I can regress...

  1. Good day Ezshwan........beautiful work. I ask respectfully, why can't you do this type of work in encaustic? Look at the work of Willow Bader and Jeff Schaller who work representationally in encaustic. The last picture that you posted here, I think would work well in encaustic. I look forward to your comment. Best to you, Suzanne

  2. Hola Suzanne,
I agree it could be done in encaustic. I love Willow Bader's work and enjoy seeing Jeff Schaller's work. He paints in encaustic and other techniques. I have worked figuratively in encasutic for years and I just think it is time to take a break. You can see both my figurative and abstract work on my website: ezshwan.com. Thanks for the comment.

  3. Wonderful. The shading is outstanding. I love your encaustics but you are really a fabulous painter in whatever medium you choose.

  4. I love these. A rare thing to see men in the paintings.

    1. Renee Duval, you are correct about seeing men in my paintings, but don't forget I spent almost 12 years painting jazz musicians - practically all men. After Kai's death, (my husband) my life changed and other than my incredible son-in-law and wonderful grandsons, there has been no male in my life.
