finally, I have posted the oil and encaustic video
This has been a studio free week. I love my Mac, but putting these videos together sure does take time.
I loved watching this this video. I just recently tried painting with oil sticks with my encaustics, and was afraid to use medium over it until it dried and so far haven't. How long do you wait to cover your oil sticks with medium?
I keep the layer of oil thin and very gently cover it with medium, right away. Fusing should be gentle, unless you are intending for the oil to feather - That can give an interesting effect also.
Sometime, I just rub the oil stick on the hot palette and mix the medium with it that way.
