I felt as if I have been working on this painting for weeks, but actually it has just been one week. I don't know how some artists working in encaustic can knock out a painting or two in a day. They can't possibly be using the many layers as I am, or maybe they just don't agonize as much as I. I am thinking of calling this 24" x 24" painting,
The Power of Peace.
I have been experimenting with using paper as a support and read your posts. I am concerned about the way to frame a matted encaustic on paper. If under glass what about bloom?
ReplyDeleteThis is a masterpiece! I dabble in encaustics but have not achieved the depth and strength that you have in your paintings. As I said before, one day I will take a workshop with you.
ReplyDeleteLynn, that is a good question. If possible I would hold off as long as possible before putting encaustic under glass. Because the encaustic on paper is very think, I think thatany heavy bloom can be avoided. If any one else has an answer for this question, I would like to hear from them.
